Warm congratulations to Constanza Gatica Moena, violinist from Chile, on being awarded the First Prize in the Romantic category and the Second Prize in the Professional category at the Bach International Music Competition UK 2026 Season 1.
Recognised for her distinctive musical voice and artistic sensitivity, Constanza’s achievement reflects a deeply personal approach to interpretation and a strong commitment to artistic expression.

Reflecting on the artistic journey behind this achievement, Constanza shares:
“Receiving first place in the Romantic B category is something that moves me deeply, because it represents much more than a result — it reflects a very personal process with music.
The Romantic repertoire has always challenged me in a very honest way… where it is not enough to control the instrument, but it becomes necessary to expose oneself, to make decisions, and to sustain a personal voice on stage. Today, that is what I tried to do: not only to play, but to truly say something.
I sincerely thank the jury for their attentive listening and for valuing my interpretation. I would also like to thank the organizers for creating a space where music is experienced with such commitment.
To my teachers, thank you for your guidance, your high standards, and for constantly pushing me beyond what feels comfortable. To my family and those who support me, thank you for being there through every stage of this journey.
And to my fellow musicians, sharing this stage with such dedicated artists is both a privilege and a constant source of inspiration.
I receive this recognition with great gratitude, but also with awareness: this is not a final destination, but rather a motivation to continue growing, deepening, and building my identity as an interpreter.
