Congratulations to Óscar Román, a pianist from Spain, on his remarkable achievements at the Saint-Saëns International Music Competition 2025 Season 4, where he was awarded:

  • Grand Prize — Professional Category (No Age Limit)

  • Platinum Prize — Romantic B (Over Age 17)

  • Platinum Prize — Etude

Biography

Óscar Román Roquero | Pianist & Professor | Internationally Awarded Artist | PD Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory

Óscar Román Roquero (Madrid, 1974), pianist and professor trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the guidance of masters M. Voskresensky, N. Trull and D. Bashkirov.Awarded more than 40 first prizes in international competitions, he has received the Grand Prize of the New York Music Awards (NYMA), as well as first prizes at the 15th Bach International Competition UK and the 9th Saint-Saëns International Music Competition.Following his debut at the Moscow Rachmaninov Hall, he has developed an international career that has taken him to 12 countries across Europe, America and Asia, performing in prominent concert halls and festivals in cities such as Moscow, Helsinki, Bucharest, London, Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro and Hong Kong. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, the Romanian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Budweis Philharmonic and the Royal Camerata of Bucharest, collaborating with conductors such as S. Kulenovic, H. Inoue, M. Lacroix, L. Tsui, A. Lizárraga, D. Svec and A. Duczmal-Mróz. His discography includes 7 live recordings released by the label Richter Music. In 1993, he began his teaching career. He is currently full professor of piano at the Ciudad Real Marcos Redondo Conservatory (Spain) and has been invited to teach at the Helsinki Conservatory, the Katarina Gurska Higher Centre (Madrid) and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
