2nd International Karol Lipiński Violin Competition

The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław with The Chair of String Instruments invite violinists of all nationalities to participate in The 2nd Karol Lipiński International Violin Competition which takes place from 22 to 28 November, 2026 in Wrocław.

The competition is open to violinists born between 1991 and 2010

The statutory prize pool is 77,000 PLN

(1st prize – €8,000, 2nd prize – €6000, 3rd prize – €4000)

The condition for entering the Competition is to send by the deadline

of 20 September 2026 a complete application including:


  • Completed application form available at: https://forms.gle/cAyrfk6NFuXPLqPr6

  • A brief biographical note and curriculum vitae with highlights of artistic activity for the past three years;

  • Copy of official document indicating date of birth;

  • 3 current photographs;

  • Audio-video recording, including a performance of:

a) one of the Caprices, Op. 10 by Henryk Wieniawski, excluding Caprice No. 1,

or one of the Caprices, Op. 29 by Karol Lipiński;

b) one of the fugues from the Sonatas BWV 1001, 1003, 1005 by J.S. Bach with

its preceding movement, or Chaconne from Partita BWV 1004 by J.S. Bach.

The recording should be made in one take, with a single still camera, with no

cuts between the pieces performed, no editing cuts during performance and

no modifications to the track. The recording should show the full view of the

Candidate so that he or she may be easily identified. The recording must be

uploaded to YouTube in 1080P resolution, with the viewing option set to ‘non

public’ and with comments and rating disabled. The title of the recording

should include the name of the Competition, the Candidate's full name and

the full titles of the pieces performed. The link to the recording should be

provided in the application form;

  • Proof of payment of entry fee of €120

  • The deadline for submitting applications is September 20, 2026. The announcement of the list of participants is September 30, 2026.

  • Submission of applications with all the above-mentioned documents shall be made electronically through the form available at: https://forms.gle/cAyrfk6NFuXPLqPr6
