Aljosha Fokionas Barnick (Alexandros Lyra), a Cretan lyra performer, has been awarded the Platinum Prize in the Professional: Age 22+ category at the European Summer Music Competition 2026, 2nd Quarter of the European Classical Music Awards (Competition Period: 24 January – 24 April 2026). He has also received the Region Representative Special Prize, having achieved the highest score among participants from Athens, Greece, earning the honour of representing the region.
Reflecting on this distinguished recognition, Aljosha shared his gratitude for the award and spoke about what this achievement means to him as an artist:
